What I do every month
If you're doing the books at night after a full day, or not touching them until your CPA asks in March, this is the part I take off your plate. Every month, I:

I'm Rich, a bookkeeper in Johnstown. I keep your QuickBooks Online books caught up and closed every month, and you get your reports with a short note on what changed.

- Categorize every transaction in QuickBooks Online
- Reconcile your bank and credit card accounts
- Match payouts from your sales channels (POS, online store, invoicing) to your bank deposits
- Track sales tax in the books for the jurisdictions we agree on
- Record payroll from your payroll provider's reports
- Close the month and send you a Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet
- Write a short summary of what changed that month
- Hand everything off to your tax preparer at year-end
How a month works
- The 1st
- Your flat monthly fee is charged automatically.
- By the 5th
- You send me any statements or documents I can't pull myself.
- By the 20th
- Your books are closed, and your reports and summary are in your inbox.
- Anytime
- Send me questions whenever they come up. I answer within three business days.
The 20th is the usual close date. If you need your numbers sooner, we can set an earlier one.
Your year
Twelve closes a year, each one by your close date. After December closes, your books go to your tax preparer.
Pricing
You pay one flat fee each month, based on how many transactions you have and how involved your books are. I don't bill by the hour. Most businesses fall into one of these:

About 76 to 200 transactions a month

Growth
About 201 to 350 transactions a month
Starting at$875/month
All three include everything on the monthly list. Your exact price comes after a free review of your books, and you'll have it in writing before you commit to anything. Extra accounts, inventory, or multiple locations can put you above the starting price. Over 350 transactions a month? Let's talk.

First, we talk on the phone for 30 to 45 minutes about your business and how the books are going. If it sounds like a fit, I take a read-only look at your QuickBooks file, which takes up to five business days, and then send you a flat monthly price in writing. The call and the review are both free.
If you decide to go ahead, we pick your monthly close date and I get started. If your books need catching up first, I'll tell you up front and quote the cleanup as a flat fee.
Who does the work
Me! When you hire Cadence, I'm the one reconciling your accounts and closing your books, and I'm the one who answers when you email with a question.
I taught music before I moved into accounting. These days my work is hands-on in QuickBooks Online every day, including multi-location reporting and monthly closes.
I live in Johnstown, so if you'd like to meet in person to get started, I'm happy to. After that, most of the work happens remotely.

Do you only work in QuickBooks Online?
Yes. QuickBooks Online is the only system I work in, so I know it really well. If you're on something else, moving to QuickBooks Online can be scoped as its own project.
My books are a mess. Is that a problem?
That's okay! The free review will show where things stand. If your books need catching up before monthly service starts, I'll quote the cleanup as a flat fee before any work begins.
How long does it take to get started?
After our free call, the review takes up to five business days, and then you'll have a flat monthly price in writing. Once you say yes, we pick your close date and I get started.
Do you do taxes?
I don't prepare tax returns or give tax advice. I work alongside your CPA or tax preparer, and at year-end I hand your books off to them. Sales tax filing is available as an add-on.
Do you run payroll?
I don't run payroll, but I record it in your books every month using your payroll provider's reports.
Is there a long-term contract?
There isn't. Either of us can end the arrangement with 30 days' notice.
How does billing work?
Your flat fee is charged on the 1st of each month by bank transfer, or by card if you'd prefer.
Can we meet in person?
Yes! I'm happy to meet in person when we get started. After that, most of the work happens remotely, and we can always set up a call.
